poor man's French bread. (daily photo)

I had a ton of hot dog buns in the cabinet the other night, and I was at a pivotal decision making crossroad: do I feed these to the geese or my kids? Geese or kids? I chose kids, swiped then with olive oil, sprinkled them with garlic salt, and topped them with shredded mozzarella cheese.

(I am talking about the bread here. Not my kids. Just so we are clear...)

I put them in the oven on broil for about 6 or 7 minutes until they were crispy on top. Made some homemade turkey meatballs and spaghetti with sweet tea. It was a cost effective, yummy supper if I do say so myself.

Note to self: SERIOUSLY stop doing this to yourself on a Wednesday night. NO one appreciates your garlic breath during fellowship time.
