31 Days of a Small Town Gal (Day 17): the weekly paper.

{Welcome to our October series, "31 Days of a Small Town Gal". You are on Day 17. Missed any previous posts? Click {here} to catch up!}

One of my new favorite things to do is take the kids to the LaFollette Press office each week to pick up my copy of the paper. The ladies there are always so sweet to offer to bring it out to me, but I remember the memories I had with my grandfather going into that same office so many years ago, that I want to relive those memories with my own children.

Papa at the LaFollette Press office, turning in his column submission.

The kids are getting used to jumping out of the van, running inside, and saying hello to all the writers and friends present, and it has been a joy to be able to look back at his work over the many years he entertained his small town with his writings and then compare them to my own. Needless to say, I have a lot of work to do!

Yes, the paper comes out only once a week in our small town. It is the topic of conversation every Thursday, amongst the coffee and sausage biscuit patrons, the ladies at the hair salon, and the folks doing their trading at the supermarket. Thankful to be a part of our small town publication each week!
