{Welcome to our October series, "31 Days of a Small Town Gal". You are on Day 24. Missed any previous posts? Click {here} to catch up!}
After we visited the museum in our town on Monday, we went across the street to the old LaFollette House:
The kids loved running on the old front porch (I'm not sure if this is even allowed, shhh!) and peeking in the windows:
There used to be a restaurant in the LaFollette House when we were little. My dad told me last night that he ate cornish hen there once. How odd and random is that? The leaves were gigantic there and the home is just gorgeous! I read that the home was built for Harvey LaFollette, and it was built on Indiana Avenue, after his home state. (Not sure how true that is, but something to put in your back pocket for later..)
The kids enjoyed their "mini homeschool field trip", and August is dying to take a return trip to the "WaFaaawette House" very soon!
