31 Days of a Small Town Gal (Day 28): drugstore cheeseburgers.

{Welcome to our October series, "31 Days of a Small Town Gal". You are on Day 28. Missed any previous posts? Click {here} to catch up!}

When I was little, my grandfather would take me and my brother to Riggs' Drug Store for a tasty meal of tiny cheeseburgers and Mayfield ice cream. The cheeseburgers were tiny like Krystal burgers, but they were a BILLION times better. You know, crispy, mini hamburger buns, warm, slimy dill pickle slices, and just enough mustard to turn the tips of your fingers a pale yellow. And he always got us the ice cream, whether we "ate good" or not. It was his treat, his rules. But we DID eat good, every bite. So, we totally earned that cookies and cream.

It is not a memory I have thought of in a while, but I went into Riggs a few days ago, looking for homemade bar soaps, and those memories came flooding back. Riggs no longer has the "diner" potion of the drug store, but the very taste of those tiny burgers but is permanently engrained in my mind and on my taste buds.
