{Welcome to our October series, "31 Days of a Small Town Gal". You are on Day 30. Missed any previous posts? Click {here} to catch up!}
I know I have already mentioned{Cove Lake Park}and {Norris Dam} in our series, but a friend pointed out that I should mention Norris Lake and the times we have spent there. As small as our town is compared with larger cities, we draw a huge crowd of people from the Northern states each summer who crave the beauty of the lakes and mountains that their hometowns simply do not offer. We used to have a "lake day" each summer with church, but haven't in recent years due to the large amount of small children we now have in the congregation:
Nothing says "summer" like swimming into water that bears a dull, green shade, in which you may find empty Mountain Dew cans or a random tube sock floating next to you. And since it is not the cleanest, thank goodness only God can wash away our sins:
I forget, at times, how blessed we are to live in an area that people long to visit all year long and cannot wait until summers at the lake are in full swing.
