on being still.

"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” 

{Psalm 46: 10}

Be still in the sickness of little ones. 

In the washing of stained sheets. 

In the throwing away of a favorite pair of ruined pajamas.

Be still in the sleeping on the floor with one eye open. 

Be still when a friend is hurting and offer prayers and encouragement. 

Listen and love. 

Be still. 

Be still when you sneak away for a small date. 

When the sky is black and the air is crisp. 

And you are chilled to the bone but so thankful for fresh air. 

Be still. 

 

At the laundry mat, on that date, praying for your friend--He is there. 

So be still.
